Missoula, MT –-(Ammoland.com)- Last session Montana Shooting Sports Association got a bill passed that the governor signed that clarifies that you may not be denied medical treatment in Montana because you refuse to answer questions at a medical facility about the guns you own or how you store them, EXCEPT that medical providers may ask if you are carrying a firearm at the time of treatment.

The news item link, below, will tell you why it is important that you not let information about your guns creep into your medical records:

Last week, the Health and Human Services Department announced a plan to share your medical records with over 35 federal agencies – all in the name of “health care,” of course.

All in the name of “efficiency,” the favorite excuse used by fascists wherever they appear… What this really does is remove the privacy and control in your relationship with your doctor by removing your records from their office file cabinet and dumping them into the Internet “cloud” where everyone and anyone can access them…

With the release of the Federal Health IT Strategic Plan, the HHS is required to seek input from the public and has opened a two-month period ending Feb. 6, within which you can be heard. If there is one thing that represents everything dangerous about an expanding federal government, this is it.

Take a stand and make sure they know you reject this unacceptable violation of your privacy and expansion of the federal government’s control of our lives. (I don’t know that anyone can access data stored in the “cloud” but professional hackers seem to do so. Be careful with what you allow into your medical record.)

Added reference to HHS and SSA! I just recently got around to applying for my Social Security Retirement. SSA automatically, without my permission enrolled me in Medicare in the HHS. When I told them I did not need Medicare, I’m under the VA healthcare system, they told me the only way to withdraw from Medicare was to withdraw from, lose, forfeit the Social Security Retirement. To put it another way. SSA and HHS are perpetrating a scam together and holding your Social Security hostage to force you by coercion into the Medicare program under HHS. Once HHS has you enrolled… Read more »

Not sure who told you that but it is totally untrue. Not only are they independent at your age they are also independent at any age or condition. My 87 year old mother does NOT use Medicare I buy her insurance thru Blue Cross as it provides her better coverage (less cost to me in the long run) and my colleagues get better income so they work harder for her. She does however collect SSI and has since she hit 62. So whoever gave you that info is full of hooey BUT there is one thing you will have to… Read more »

I don’t know about everyone else out there but according to my old drill sgt every one of us swinging d**ks have one “gun” that we were born with. To prove it – if we ever called our weapon a gun, we were made to double time around the company with one hand on our crouch (our “gun”) and the other holding our weapon above our heads yelling at the top of our lungs “this is my weapon, this is my “gun”, this is for killing and this is for FUN”. So, if they want my “gun” they better come… Read more »

I’m a Veteran and use the Vet clinic and hospital, records are already in the cloud and have been for some time.
Any Vet care office in the world has them if I should show up.

I’ve worked for the V.A. for the last 20 years. Your information…may not be as safe as you think. Not all the V.A. medical records and information…are in the “cloud”. Regardless…never answer any questions about guns or gun ownership…they can share info with other fed agencies.
