Below The Radar: Local Public Health And Safety Protection Act of 2021

Oppose Gun Control Take Action

Chicago/Washington D.C. – -(AmmoLand.com)- Second Amendment supporters can know one thing for certain: Many times, when “public health” is thrown around by anti-Second Amendment extremists, you can bet the target is actually our Second Amendment rights. One case in point is a recently introduced piece of legislation.

HR 4888, also known as the Local Public Health And Safety Protection Act of 2021, sponsored by Representative Robin Kelly (D-IL), seeks to bribe states to repeal preemption laws. These laws help by preventing a patchwork of laws across states, meaning that someone exercising their Second Amendment rights doesn’t become a criminal just by crossing a county line.

If you think you’ve seen Kelly’s name before – you’re right. This Congresswoman’s bills have been discussed here before. Whether it’s trying to pass off attacking our rights as urban progress, her multiple efforts to legally authorize bureaucratic gun bans that only the Violence Policy Center would love, or other schemes that target our rights, whether disguised as opposing “gun trafficking” or adding people to the prohibited persons list, Kelly has consistently attacked Americans who wish to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

If gun control laws really worked, then Chicago, with all its onerous provisions, would be the safest place in the country.

The crime stats, though, tell a very different story. And according to NRA-ILA’s summary of the laws in Illinois, that state also has strict laws and there is precious little preemption regarding firearms. Illinois is not exactly friendly towards the Second Amendment.

Robin Kelly wants to bribe states to adopt this patchwork formula, with the promise that it protects “public health.” How tripping up those who are trying to exercise their Second Amendment rights in a safe and responsible manner protects “public health” is a complete mystery, because we’ve got decades of experience showing that passing onerous firearms laws has not worked to control crime.

What has worked? Project Exile did, for starters. Using some sentencing provisions from 18 USC 924 and some of the provisions of 18 USC 922 would make a much bigger positive difference in a positive direction. So, why won’t Robin Kelly introduce legislation to do that?

Second Amendment supporters should contact their Representative and Senators and politely urge them to oppose HR 4888. They also should urge their Senators and Representative to support legislation like the Prosecuting Gun Crimes Saves Lives Act, the Protecting Communities and Preserving the Second Amendment Act, and the Restoring The Armed Career Criminal Act. In fact, maybe Representative Kelly ought to be asked why she refuses to support those bills.

All gun laws are infringements, repugnant to the Constitution, and thus, per SCOTUS, unconstitutional. All laws that carve out exemptions for police or politicians are likewise to be ignored.

My state of Pa has wasted more money to make State Police better shooters with a private gun range in Gettysburg. Like they didn’t already have the same access to public lands or private. The range should be opened to the republic. I believe it should be used to train citizens by State troopers. Help citizens get their C&C since they want to enforce such nonsense (C&C). What to do training classes. Such as when a officer stops you & you’re armed. What to do after shooting intruders, thieves, etc. Have it open to the public, training maybe at least… Read more »

This coming from a “swamp creature” living in a state which harbors one of the most lawless cities in America; and with her cadre of “taxpayer funded” security (cause she’s a politician)!

If this grew any teeth, it’s a fight worth having. The States own the Feds. Not the other way around. And the sooner the citizens realize that, the better off we will all be.

Stop asking. Free men don’t ask. And you choose whether someone represents you. An election doesn’t choose for you. This isn’t a democracy, and the government behaves with so much criminality now that it has given up even the pretense of Constitutional validity. Not a single government employee is upholding their oath, and the whole lot is now outside the bounds of any sane interpretation of the Constitution.

Stop pretending things are otherwise. Stop pretending. Learn what principles are and adopt some, then act accordingly.

Typical feckless “ACTION ALERT!“:

“Call your senators & congressman.”

Translation for gunners in commie states:

“Call DiFi & Schumer TODAY!”
