Everytown for Gun Safety will reportedly spend more than $1.8 million in an effort to help elect Democrat Terry McAuliffe as governor and retain a Democrat majority in the House of Delegates.
Once again the Governor thinks he can prohibit guns even though he has no legal authority to do so from the Virginia General Assembly.
McAuliffe has no legal authority to do so, but is trying to find a way anyhow. The law or the Constitution have never slowed down McAuliffe..
Unfortunately, McAuliffe seems to be far more interested in appeasing the anti-gun politicians in his home state of New York than he does protecting law-abiding Virginians.
Governor McAuliffe has vetoed knife law reform in Virginia. The law would have removed the antiquated and irrational ban on automatic opening knives.
Late last year Governor McAuliffe put into effect an “emergency” ban on the carry of firearms in state agency buildings. What was the emergency situation that the ban was addressing? There was none.
